The Eastern Naval Command is one of the 4 operation commands of the NN responsible for protecting Nigeria’s maritime territory, enforcement of maritime laws and defense of national security interests across the total maritime spectrum.

The Command has a coastline of about 110 nautical miles and a sea area of about 22,000 square nautical miles, which extends into the Joint Development Zone with Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe. The Command is specifically responsible for safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests within eastern maritime corridor covering Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River State.

In line with the CNS leadership and command ethos, ENC has recorded modest achievements in the area of operations, infrastructural development, administration and welfare.

Joint Sea Exercises like this further enhances the Nigerian Navy efforts against the activities of criminals and militant groups within the Nigerian maritime ecosystem; which have been drastically reduced as these criminal elements now lack the freedom of action to perpetrate their criminal activities.

Highlights of the celebrated winners at the just concluded ENC Intra-Command Football Competition which held from 20-23 Sep 23 at NNS VICTORY. This event afforded personnel the opportunity to observe long standing traditions and keep fit to maintain sound health and mind for operational deployment. Celebrations!!

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral OK OLUWAGBIRE, received and celebrated the ENC Communication Team who came back with trophy as the overall second best in the 2023 Nigerian Navy Annual Communication Competition which took place in Lagos.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla (AM), commenced familiarization tour of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Area of Responsibility, on Tuesday 1 August 2023 at Calabar, Cross River State.

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral OK OLUWAGBIRE, commissioned the new Chapel at HQ ENC.
